Der 11.9. ist ja nicht nur der Tag, an dem islamistische Terroristen die USA attackierten - sondern er ist auch der Tag an dem faschistische Generäle um Pinochet mit Unterstützung der USA gegen den sozialistischen chilenischen Präsidenten Salvador Allende putschten, das demokratische System in Chile zerstörten und in der Folge tausende inhaftierten, folterten und ermordeten. Heuer jährt sich dieser Tag zum 50. Mal.
Als ich vor 23 Jahren in Chile war (auch an einem 11.9., der damals noch ein rein chilenischer Gedenktag war, denn das World Trade Center kollabierte erst ein Jahr später), lernte ich dort einen chilenischen Anarchisten kennen - der ein guter Freund wurde und der mir ein Gedicht vermacht hat: Caminando. Ich hab es vertont und veröffentliche es aus gegebenem Anlass - ein positives Gedicht voller Hoffnung auf eine bessere Welt ohne Faschisten etc.

9/11. is not only the day on which Islamist terrorists attacked the USA - it is also the day on which fascist generals around Pinochet, with the support of the USA, putsched against the socialist Chilean President Salvador Allende, destroyed the democratic system in Chile and subsequently imprisoned, tortured and murdered thousands. When I was in Chile 23 years ago (also on a 9/11, which at the time was still a purely Chilean day of remembrance, as the World Trade Center did not collapse until a year later), I met a Chilean anarchist there - who became a good friend and who left me a poem: Caminando. I set it to music and publish it for the occasion - a positive poem full of hope for a better world without fascists etc.

El 11 de septiembre no es sólo el día en que terroristas islamistas atacaron Estados Unidos, sino también el día en que generales fascistas del entorno de Pinochet, con el apoyo de Estados Unidos, dieron un golpe de Estado contra el Presidente socialista chileno Salvador Allende, destruyeron el sistema democrático en Chile y posteriormente encarcelaron, torturaron y asesinaron a miles de personas. Este año se cumple el 50 aniversario de aquel día.
Cuando estuve en Chile hace 23 años (también el 11-S, que entonces todavía era un día de conmemoración puramente chileno, porque el World Trade Center no se derrumbó hasta un año después), conocí allí a un anarquista chileno que se convirtió en un buen amigo y que me dejó un poema: Caminando. Le puse música y lo publico para la ocasión - un poema positivo lleno de esperanza por un mundo mejor sin fascistas, etc.
