In Zeiten, da sich Großbritannien und der europäische Kontinent mehr und mehr zu entfremden scheinen, veröffentlichen ein Brite und ein Bayer ein gemeinsames Album, das nicht nur textlich und musikalisch außergewöhnlich ist, sondern das auch eine einmalige Entstehungsgeschichte hat. Denn Nick Tozcek und Thies Marsen sind sich bisher nur einmal begegnet. Das Album entstand über eine Entfernung von knapp 1300 Kilometern.

Nick Toczek und Thies Marsen, der eine Engländer, der andere Bayer, gehören zwei unterschiedlichen Generationen an und wurden doch beide vom Punk geprägt. Nick, sah 1977 The Clash live und war elektrisiert. Er begann in seinem Wohnort Bradford selbst Konzerte zu organisieren, Fanzines herauszugeben und Punk-Lyrik zu schreiben. Bis heute performed er seine Gedichte regelmäßig live und ist auf der ganzen Welt als Vortragskünstler unterwegs. Thies erlebte in den späten 1980er Jahren in Bayern Konzerte von Bad Brains, Fugazi, NoMeansNo und anderen und gründete daraufhin eigene Bands, allerdings nie so erfolgreich wie die zeitweiligen Übungsraum-Kollegen The Notwist.
